From the design of our residential, commercial, retail and public spaces, to the way we’re connecting our community to the city surrounding it, we’ve considered what it means to be truly healthy and sustainable. Not only will Melbourne Quarter lead the way in environmental standards, it will aspire to ensure sustainable living is a natural way of life for all.

During the early stages of our neighbourhood, we’re focused on initiatives like encouraging more environmentally conscious transportation by providing cycling amenity (including visitor bike parking) and end-of-trip facilities including lockers, showers and maintenance stations in our commercial towers. 

We’re also encouraging workers to make our public spaces their office too by providing access to free Wi-Fi throughout the precinct — an initiative we hope will support improved productivity, collaboration and a healthy work-life balance.

At Melbourne Quarter, workers, residents and visitors alike will have the opportunity to see, touch, smell, hear and connect to nature through a variety of green, civic spaces. In fact, more than 50 per cent of the precinct will be dedicated to open space, including a main public square, a soaring Sky Park, the neighbourhood Titree Park, and a new laneway connecting Collins and Flinders Streets. 
In recognition of our approach to design, Melbourne Quarter has been awarded the highest available rating for sustainable precincts in Australia by the Green Building Council of Australia, receiving a 6 Star Green Star Communities rating (representing world leadership). And that’s just the start of our green dream —as we evolve we continue to introduce new measures that consider humans and our interaction with the planet.
