AFL Moving to Melbourne Quarter Tower
AFL now joins a growing list of major employers choosing Melbourne Quarter for their future workplaces.
Leasing momentum continues to build at Lendlease’s Melbourne Quarter precinct, with the AFL joining a growing list of major employers choosing the inner‑city destination for their future workplaces.
Located opposite Southern Cross Station on Collins Street, the $3 billion mixed‑use precinct spans 2.5 hectares and delivers 150,000 square metres of premium office space across three next‑generation commercial buildings alongside residential towers, curated retail and dining, and a network of parks, laneways and public spaces.
Later this year, the AFL will relocate its Melbourne headquarters to the precinct’s flagship commercial building, Melbourne Quarter Tower, under a multi year commitment. The tower recently achieved a 6 Star Green Star Design & As Built v1.2 rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, recognising world leadership in sustainable design and construction. The new headquarters will provide a centrally located, modern workplace designed to support AFL staff, clubs and partners, while maintaining close proximity to Marvel Stadium and the CBD.
The AFL’s move follows Jetstar, which is set to relocate to nearby One Melbourne Quarter later this month. The airline will occupy approximately 7,000 square metres across three levels, joining a growing mix of national and global organisations drawn to the precinct for its transport connectivity, modern office spaces, strong amenity and access to open green space.
With more than 50 per cent of the precinct dedicated to public open and green space, workers enjoy direct access to new parks and laneways seamlessly integrated with a growing mix of retail and hospitality offerings designed to support the daily needs of workers and visitors.
Together, the AFL and Jetstar add to an established business community at Melbourne Quarter that includes Medibank, Seven Network, Google, Energy Australia and Arup, reinforcing the precinct’s position as a leading office destination.
Following the recent completion of West Tower, the final residential building at Melbourne Quarter, the precinct is one of the largest mixed-use developments delivered in Australia in more than a decade and is already home to more than 1,800 residents and a daily workforce of more than 12,000 people.
