A new public art installation called Urban Surfaces is on display at Melbourne Quarter, showcasing publicly contributed photographs which capture the essence of our great city.

The public art concept has come about as part of a collaborative project involving students from RMIT’s School of Architecture and Design and Lendlease’s Melbourne Quarter development.

Students have designed the Urban Surfaces interactive artwork on the project’s construction hoarding at the corner of Flinders and Spencer streets.

The project has given students the opportunity to document Melbourne’s rich diversity through photographs by experimenting with creative treatments as part of the major mixed-use Melbourne Quarter precinct development.
