TWO MELBOURNE QUARTER ACHIEVES 6 STAR GREEN DESIGN REVIEW CERTIFICATION

Melbourne Quarter continues to set new standards for sustainable design.

Melbourne Quarter’s second commercial tower, Two Melbourne Quarter, has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star Design Review certification from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). This award recognises the quality of the office building and wider precinct, and honours Lendlease’s commitment to sustainability, community and innovation.

The GBCA assessment covers categories including management, indoor environment quality, energy and transport. Lendlease worked with Two Melbourne Quarter’s property manager, JLL, and its commercial tenants to implement its responsible property investment strategy across the portfolio. Key areas of focus include operational policies relating to health and wellbeing for occupants; energy, waste and water reduction; best practice contract management across cleaning, waste and groundskeeping; sustainable procurement and the implementation of sector leading Reconciliation Action Plans.

This rating is on the back of Two Melbourne Quarter recently achieving practical completion, amid signings of three new tenants. Leading businesses EnergyAustralia, International Working Group, Datacom, Productivity Commission, IDP Education and Infosys will call the new building home.

A number of sustainability targets have been put in place at this $2.9b precinct, most notably the Melbourne Quarter precinct achieving a 6-Star Green Star Communities rating, signifying Lendlease’s global leadership in sustainable precinct development. Designed to achieve a 6-Star Green star Design & As Built, our commercial towers aim to be resilient to climate change through a precinct climate change adaptation and resilience plan.
